EN 1176 Safety Standards
All our seesaws comply with EN 1176 playground equipment standards:
- No entrapment hazards in moving parts
- Safety handles at both ends
- Limited range of motion to prevent impact injuries
- Impact-absorbing surfacing required beneath (EN 1177)
- Minimum 1.5m safety zone around all sides
Seesaw Installation Requirements
- Foundation: Concrete or compacted base with ground anchor
- Safety Surface: Rubber flooring (EN 1177 compliant) extending to fall zone
- Spacing: Minimum 1.5m clearance from other equipment
- Anchoring: Bolt-down or in-ground mounting options
Maintenance
- Monthly inspection of bolts, handles and pivot mechanism
- Lubricate pivot points every 6 months
- Check for rust or corrosion on metal parts annually
- Replace worn rubber seats promptly
